TAC CUP Football will be on display across the region throughout the 2015 season with the Murray Bushrangers set to play games in Albury, Wangaratta, Shepparton and Benalla.
Talent Manager Lee Fraser is excited to launch the clubs 2015 campaign against the Bendigo Pioneers at the Benalla Showgrounds on Saturday March 28. ‘As a club we receive tremendous support from the Benalla community with a large number of players coming through the local junior football programs’. ‘It is great to play our Round 1 fixture in what is a first class facility for both community and elite junior competition’.
There are a number of highlights in the fixture including an interstate trip to the Northern Territory on Saturday 30th May. ‘Playing in Darwin will be a great experience both on and off the field for the players selected, travelling and acclimatizing to what will be very unique conditions’
Other fixture highlights include
- The first 2 games of the season will incorporate curtain raisers where the Murray Bushrangers Under 16 squad will play before the TAC CUP squad.
- Good Friday clash with Gippsland Power at Morwell which will include travel and overnight stay for both the TAC CUP and Under 16 teams
- Anzac Clash at the Wangaratta Showgrounds against last season’s TAC CUP premiers the Oakleigh Chargers
- Traditional clash with New South Wales / ACT Rams at the Albury Sports ground on Sunday May 10
- Four home Sunday games including a game at Deakin Reserve against the Western Jets on Sunday 2 August. These games are designed to enable local clubs the opportunity to watch their young stars in action.
Fraser was happy with the fixture ‘We are pleased that our region continues to be exposed to TAC CUP football with games in Albury, Wangaratta, Benalla and Shepparton. ‘We encourage the local football community to come out and have a look at what is a great standard of football displaying the most talented under age footballers in the country’.
