Hounslow played junior and senior football at Heidelberg in the northern football league until the end of 1996. At the age of 17, he played for Box Hill in the old VFA in 1994. In 1997, Hounslow traveled interstate to play for Southport in the QAFL for three years. He departed from Southport in 2001 and played for Labrador where he was awarded the role of Vice Captain. Hounslow moved back to Victoria in 2003 but chose a country competition to play in with the Western Border League. He played for Heywood at this time where he was a league representative.
From 2004-2007 Hounslow returned to Queensland. This time he played for Port Douglas in the CFL (Cairns Football League) where he became a premiership player in 2005 and a league representative. With his achievements seemingly complete up north, Hounslow traveled back to Victoria and settled in Ocean Grove. He played for Hamilton Imperials in the Western Border League in 2008 where his team just fell short of a flag. A year later Hounslow played in a league closer to home with the Bellarine League.
In 2011 Hounslow began a new career in coaching. He was a Senior Assistant Coach at Grovedale FC until 2014 where he joined Geelong West FC from 2015-2017 as midfield and Senior Assistant Coach. Hounslow also coached at Geelong College for 2016-2017. In 2018 he joined Newtown &Chilwell FC as development and forwards coach in the Geelong Football League. For 2019 Hounslow will play the part of Assistant Coach of the forward line for the Jets. With his experience, the tall timber and goal sneaks are in good hands.
